Sports Premium

The Sports and PE Premium for schools started in 2013. Schools receive an allocation based on pupil numbers. Our annual allocation for Wolfson Hillel is £19,500.

In 2018-21 we allocated this funding to

  • the development of a multi use games area in the playground. This increased the number of P.E. lesson opportunities and clubs at lunchtime and after school.
  • employing a coach to faciltate football in the school gym at lunchtimes. This allowed for directed time for Years 1 -6
  • all school staff received training on pitch and progression in P.E.
  • taking part in the Maccabi Jewish Inter School Programme, which charged for each tournament
  • marking sports pitches on the newly surfaced playground

In 2022-23 we are allocating this funding to:

  • increase the skills of teachers and support staff by working alongside a PE specalist teacher and providing cover for them to attend sports training courses.
  • staffing a range of lunch time and after school sporting clubs
  • increase the sporting clubs on offer during enrichment and after school to include; gymnastics, dance, multi sports, tennis, hockey, football, cricket, rugby, rounders and music and movement.
  • purchase playground gym equipment
  • run a newly designed sports day, with an element of competition, on a field
  • employ a football coach to train our teams
  • employ a PE lead to drive sports forward in the school
  • employ multiple coaches at lunchtime to train pupils and lead their play
  • taking part in the Maccabi Jewish Inter School Programme, which charges for each tournament. This fund has meant we do not need to pass this cost onto pupils.
  • Buy into the Enfield sports programme and tournaments
  • Invest in a new PE scheme (Get set 4 PE) and train staff
